technical diving

What is Technical Diving?

Many SCUBA diving training agencies define Recreational Diving as dives limited to depths no greater than 40m/130ft and no mandatory decompression stops (no deco diving).

They define Technical Diving as dives that can include one or more of the following:

  • Dives deeper than 40m/130ft
  • Mandatory decompressions stop(s)
  • Overhead environments (caves, wrecks, etc.)
  • Multiple breathing gases
  • Multiple tanks

Due to breathing-gas safety concerns, Vermont Diving limits recreational dive training to depths no greater than 30m/100ft.
